  • I don't even know what I would call myself. It sure feels like we're going to need at least 4 or 5 generations worth of hard work to debrainworm the population of the world enough to even think about dissolving any states. I think I'd go for a cultural revolution over the course of at least 60 years, "dissolving" into a radical fluid democracy, hopefully itself dissolving into something even better or maybe not that's for them to decide.

I don't know why you're surprised that we stan the less-capitalist OS on the anti-capitalist forum.

    In other words :bugs-no:

Now we can make them bigger than you ever imagined possible, with an elevator for the driver's seat and an elevator for the cargo :jeb:

I've long thought that an apartment complex would be a good place for a commune. You could turn the bottom level into a laundromat/market/kitchen/cafeteria/bicycle share/other essential services for the residents. Having a market and soup kitchen downstairs would mean a lot less grocery and gas wastage. Overall you would stand to save a lot of money as a resident in a place like that.

It wouldn't come from a pretend leftist landlord, and I don't see americans being able to be debrainwormed enough to work together on a project like that either. It's a potential island of stability out there somewhere that we would have to work towards.

I just know it's a lot easier to unload furniture from mine than my coworkers'. Just a short knee bend and I can get underneath it.

Or when I'm hauling something very heavy like a wood stove or a riding lawn mower, the ramp is much shorter than it would need to be if I had a full size truck.

I'm sorry you had to go through that, and I wish ill upon your bosses as well :knifecat:

As someone who does actually need a truck for work, the wee one I have is so much more practical than big stupid modern trucks. It's impossible to find one in this size anymore. The bed is at knee level instead of chest level so I can actually get heavy things in it, and it gets gas mileage only slightly worse than my mother's sedan.

The modern trucks only get bigger and stupider and harder to load. Sad.

  • I’m so sick of the cop culture of trying to catch someone doing any form of supposed law-breaking or infraction that they could possibly find some way to justify. I’m so fucking sick of the liberals who are perpetually in between “yes but that’s a good thing actually” and “the police don’t make that decision it’s the politicians!” or straight up gaslighting.

Just got my second “talking to” (read: brow beating) about where and how I am allowed to ride my bike. First was for riding on the sidewalk which is legal here and I have since printed out a copy of the ordinance that says so and rolled it up in my handlebars just in case.

Second was earlier for riding my ebike on a “no motorized vehicles” path, which 1. it’s legal on anyway (capped speed limit), and 2. the battery for it was at home so it’s essentially a regular bike ATM anyway. I printed off that ordinance as well, but why is it my job to keep track of this shit?

If not for a sense of rebellion this harassment WOULD put me off cycling in my town altogether.

Oh and for a bonus I just noticed that the almost always empty little skate park has a new “no bikes, no rollerblades, no scooters” sign up that I am fairly certain is not at the behest of the people who actually use it, but I guess I could be wrong. I just can’t see skateboarders giving a shit if someone wants to bring a scooter.
