I think Aboriginal Flag is recognizably Australian enough. There aren't really any many uniquely Australian things that'd work on a flag that aren't also deeply rooted in settler-colonialism.

There is far too much fine detail here. With flag design it's better to keep things simple. The wattle wreath isn't going to work, though it might do alright as part of a state emblem.

A boomerang would also be a controversial choice for indigenous representation, it's a cartoonish stereotype. It'd be like having a spear. You're already invoking the Aboriginal Flag anyway. It's unnecessary.

The Eureka Flag is also a pretty questionable choice. I appreciate the history, but it's more frequently used by racists and nationalists than anything else. The sizing here also really doesn't work for me. It only really works if it's dominating the flag design, which I don't think is appropriate here.

I'd personally just keep it simple. Aboriginal Flag with a single communist symbol centered. Like this: https://hexbear.net/pictrs/image/ifkL0jJnuI.jpg

It's just some bougie cunt mad that he's not churning people through the COVID meat grinder for their convenience. Footy and BBQ has no relevance beyond being a gathering you shouldn't do in lock down and the working class affectation all these patronising fucks do when they want to pretend they're one of us for propaganda.

  • A series of intercepted phone calls played during her appearance before the commission revealed that Maguire had told the premier that he potentially stood to make hundreds of thousands of dollars if land owned by the racing heir Louise Waterhouse near the site of the new western Sydney airport was rezoned.

The payment would have been enough to pay off “about half” of his $1.5m personal debt, Maguire told Berejiklian in one phone call.

She responded: “I don’t need to know about that bit.”

Our media sucks so bad. From the reporting I've seen thought this was just an affair. Another dumb "scandal" where talking heads pretend like they or anyone else cares about others sex lives. Instead it's just how they're spinning this to avoid the corruption angle.

  • couldn’t the argument be made that voting for Greens is akin to the John Oliver->Breadtube->Anarchism/Marxism pipeline?

No. As I have already tried to explain, the result has been exactly the opposite in more favourable situations. The Greens give the illusion that you're breaking out of the politics of the ruling class and thus block the pipeline.

Like Green gets the 5% and more exposure, is fucked out of the federal funding

Why do you think you're going to get fucked out of federal funding? The amount is a pittance in the grand scheme of things and it's going to a party that does not challenge the status quo.

  • For those pushing Greens instead, please learn something from the Australian Greens. They started as an environmental coalition that explicitly included socialists and anarchists. They were less liberal than the American Green Party. Over the years they ate up space, acting as a barrier against socialism by diverting people who would otherwise be radicals. Then when leftists in the party started to grow, the liberals moved to purge them.

All in all, the Greens have been a detriment to the left. Just a way of funneling would be leftists back in to liberalism with a thin veneer of environmentalism. This is true of other Green parties too.

The recent case of UK Labour's entrenched liberals sabotaging the party to stop Corbyn has lessons for you here too.

What those pushing the Greens are suggesting is to give more power to an institution that, despite running a socialist this election, is controlled by liberals and gambling that they'll be able to overcome them eventually in an internal struggle. With no real plan on how to oust those liberals and despite many examples of how this can backfire disastrously. All for a party that has fuck all power of it's own anyway, so the reward is extremely low even if you succeed.

  • Yeah I considered mentioning the IWW, but the only one I've actually talked to was a weird Young Labor guy who was definitely not an anarchist.

There's also an anarchist group that some fascist attempted to bomb a few years back in Melbourne. I don't know much about them, but if they pissed some nazi cunt off enough to try that then they must be doing something right.

  • As it was told to me, most anarchists were kind of consumed by the Greens in the 90s. Despite the party trying to purge leftists, they never really reclaimed their own identity and have remained sort of hidden in the enviromentalist movement. The last anarchist I talked to wasn't part of the Greens, but was still just trying to organize Extinction Rebellion protests.

Those aren't the only anarchists though obviously, but I really couldn't tell you what the others are doing.

  • Aussie Anarchist

So for context, Anarchism is practically dead in Australia. Even at it's lowest point in the USA it was more alive than at any point here in the last 20 years. The people posting stuff like this are entirely online.
