  • I'm surprised, sad, shocked and disappointed that such laws even have to exist.

There are actually people out there who want Nazism to exist and flourish. Why are many so short-sighted not to learn at least from recent history?

    • World War II and the Cold War
    • Chernobyl and Fukushima
    • Deepwater Horizon and Exxon Valdez
    • Sidoarjo and Lusi volcanoes
    • North Pacific Garbage Patch
    • Climate change in general

... and so on. So many lessons to ignore and mistakes to repeat, because many can't be bothered to look for new solutions to old problems.

I read the whole article. I don't agree with the notation of the American Physical Society, but who am I to argue that? 😄

I started out thinking I knew how the order of operations worked and ended up with a broader view of the subject. Thank you for opening my mind a bit today. I will be more explicit in my notations from now on.

  • Images like these that are pulled out of context make me stop believe most of what I read on the Internet. Leaving out the date like this in the current context can be manipulative.

Not much changed, to be fair, but pulling out a17 year old statistic is still bad form unless the point is made that nothing changed. That wasn't the point of OP, though.

    Edit: spelling

  • Wired headphones are the answer. Sound better, no batteries, no charging - ever -, excellent cross-device compatibility and a ton of other advantages I've written about elsewhere.

If only companies wouldn't remove the jack left, right and centre for mostly lousy excuses.

This is basically my opinion: https://www.soundguys.com/was-ditching-the-headphone-jack-a-good-idea-13825/

What does "out of my league" even mean?

The concept of someone being "out of my league" is a myth. We really should stop putting people in these categories and instead see everyone as an equal challenge. By labeling someone as "out of my league," I am limiting myself and degrading the people who I think are "in my league." It's better to focus on people we're genuinely interested in and not place them on such a high pedestal that they feel they need to be worshipped. Rather place them high enough to think they are prized. The people we date are the ones who we think are great, and we believe they could make us great too.

I feel we should remember that no one is out of anyone's league. We should rather focus our attention on a person we're genuinely interested in and challenge ourselves.

You never know what might happen until you try.
