  • I want to say that a lot of the African people know how to be incredibly resilient, and that I have no doubt that there will be a future for the continent as long as people persevere. Then again, life is already getting, and will get significantly harder and harder in a lot of places. I also have no faith in the leadership of half the continent. Bright minds like in the Tshisekedi administration (DRC) who decided to let Big Oil ramp up the drilling in the Congo rainforest. You know, one of the biggest carbon sinks in the world.





  • Interesting answer. to add to this Adorno's description of the evolution of Jazz: “even yesterday’s music must first be rendered harmless by jazz, must be released from its historical element, before it is ready for the market. Jazz may have its roots in African music, but any forms of authentic African expression must be attenuated or removed so that the music can be a mass-produced. "
