I came to a point that I don't want to get to know my new co-workers anymore when they belong to the dominant ethnicity. Everytime it's like I'm a coin toss away from getting to hear some fucked up racist shit, just because I can pass as one of them. It's exhausting getting dissapointed constantly like this.

  • I want to say that a lot of the African people know how to be incredibly resilient, and that I have no doubt that there will be a future for the continent as long as people persevere. Then again, life is already getting, and will get significantly harder and harder in a lot of places. I also have no faith in the leadership of half the continent. Bright minds like in the Tshisekedi administration (DRC) who decided to let Big Oil ramp up the drilling in the Congo rainforest. You know, one of the biggest carbon sinks in the world.

Jazz may have its roots in African music, but any forms of authentic African expression must be attenuated or removed so that the music can be a mass-produced. "
