Alberta is stopping most of it's testing in two weeks and at the end of August (right before school starts, conveniently) the only way to get a test is going to be if at a hospital after you've been admitted or a doctor's office. You also don't need to quarantine or wear a mask if you do test positive anymore. Vaccination rates are about 50% in all of rural alberta, as low as 40% in some areas. Buckle up folks.

  • Lol we ate the best fruit of our lives in Cuba, to the point of my wife dreaming of staying at the rural casa particular on a farm again just so she can have meal after meal of their delicious fruit. why would they import fruit like apples that don't store well in the heat and would require massive refrigeration when there is an abundance of local options?

also I ate an unhealthy amount of pizza while in Havana which certainly had cheese. Line was out the door every night with locals.

  • This church is about 15 min away from me. There are probably 20 more within a 30 min drive just like it, none of them are used anymore, just sit there as landmarks to the settlers of different ethnicities who came and took free stolen indigenous land. Just across the river from this church is Stoney Knoll, a landless band that was given a reserve in Treaty 6 that was then stolen and given to settlers. They've been trying to fundraise for $30k in legal fees for almost a decade now and haven't made their goal, while the farmers surrounding them keep making bank with record harvests. The local Facebook page has a post about this fucking church burning and a bunch of people whining about it because they liked to look at it for ten seconds on the way to the bible camp but there wasn't a peep about the 751 graves that were found a week ago, big surprise.

    In short: :kkkanada:
