So has every banned subreddit just made their own reddit knock off? I know we did, as well as the_donald. Wasn't aware the gender critical morons did as well.

I mean, CHUDs made gab/Twatter clone. Anyone with time and effort and wants to continue using a "site" that they're banned from will just make a "fork"/variant it seems.

(This isn't a slight on any of us/them, just an observation)

Yeah that's true. I don't have any problem with it. In fact I hate how centralized the internet has become in the last 15 years so I'm ok moving onto our own platforms.

Though I wish some of us would migrate to a message board system. Xenforo is pretty good and superior to the reddit style interface imo.

...I mean, even with these "offshoots" there's (Border) Gateway routers. Take about 2-3 of those out and the decentralized nature of the Internet (back in the 1980's anyway) basically goes down.

(Though that's extremely hard, IIRC to do. The closest thing would be like Akamai CDN's servers going down and taking a lot of services like Facebook, Twitter, etc. offline until Akamai got those servers back up.)
