We've been taught that the U.S. had to drop atomic bombs on Japan to end World War II. Historical evidence shows Japan would have surrendered anyway.

    If it saved allied lives it was worth it.

    So it wasn't worth it? Because the evidence is clear that the bombs were not necessary for and did not accelerate their surrender
