People really don't understand how online we are at all. They see a brigade when it's really just everyone piling in of their own accord to argue and have their say. But we post so much more than everyone else we end up dominating a lot of threads. Which is very funny.
Hexbear at this point is almost all of my internet time because everywhere else is liberalism. I imagine this would hold true for a lot of others as well
I'm not even that online, it's just that my time online is so concentrated on this single forum
seriously. what else am i gonna do? get on facebook and scroll passed 8 sponsored posts about the latest pyramid scheme to see a post from distant cousin about going to take karate at the wrestle center so he can join Jim Caviezel's Army of Warriors and be in the Sound of Freedom 2 Official Music Video?
I mean it really is this. This space is just so much more conducive to online forum posting, just like in the good-ol-days before internet 2.0. And the other places on lemmy are, in general, incredibly boring and do not actually post all that much, while this place usually has new dumb shit every couple of days.
I quit reddit when they banned CTH, quit Twitter when Elon bought it, and hadn’t been on Facebook years prior for obvious reasons. Hexbear is the only place I engage outside of real life, everywhere else is intolerable.

Same. Personally, I’m a recovering terminally online liberal. Hexbear is now my home terminal

I don't even post that much, I just literally don't use any other social media.
I lurked a ton before federation, but I have been there maybe 10 minutes in the past 5 days now. It's great!
The only subs I still follow are a bunch of art subs now.

I wasn't pro-disabling downvotes at the time but god damn what an unintended benefit
Can people logged into other instances downvote our comments on other instances?
Yes, but we dont see them.
I think so but it doesn't do anything.
It actually does, we just don't see the number change, so essentially we've got a big disadvantage but we're still beating their asses
Does it affect the order comments get presented to us?
I think so but idk for certain
Yes
