Have you thought about this for 1 (one) second? And you need it for some key functions like AC (de-fogs the glass when it rains) and heat? And it connects to your phone??? Literally drives me mad, I can't believe anyone thought that was a good or safe idea.
And if you don't have a map you can always go on an abandoned desert road and ask the wild eyed gas station attendant for directions, then you turn around and the gas station is gone because it was a scary ghost

I say we just make it illegal to look at or touch any touchscreen in a car, whether it be a phone, tablet, car screen, or anything else.

Not saying that it doesn't work... But there are some shitty roads with shitty designs, shitty exits, bad signage, etc...
Plus some apps provide usefull realtime updates like if an accident is blocking a road, if there is heavy traffic, etc...
