It basically was Overwatch or how those things are called with players having avatars which got different skills. link

I remember when Team Fortress was just an ambitious Quake 1 mod.
That was the best TF experience honestly. People weren't too skilled in it and you had that joy of stuff that wasn't done before. It basically was Overwatch or how those things are called with players having avatars which got different skills.
