The Premier (Governor-level) of my province Ontario made a huge deal about beer. Opening up sales of beer, lowering the price of beer, etc etc. Most likely as a distraction from the pro-landlord and developer, environmentally destructive policies he's ramming down our throats.

I think it's a tactic used to attempt to appeal to the "people". Like an alien trying to understand what humans enjoy.
