      From the article:

Fauci’s comments reiterate the declaration in January 2022 by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky that the fact that COVID-19 predominantly kills people who are “unwell to begin with” is “encouraging news.”

I mean, it is better news then “kills healthy young people”.

Obviously better nobody die, but better if someone dies a few months early than a few decades early.

Completely false choice you're illustrating. The older people you're describing would live on for decades without COVID exposure.

They are going to die because your country doesn't have the social consciousness to wear mask, at minimum, during the winter surges.

You are giving credit to fascist eugenics over the bare minimum collective action. It's extremely easy to wear an aura N95 Mask. Other countries do it very easily which is why families aren't dropping like flies.

American nurses don't even wear masks anymore, I've personally seen COVID positive patients assigned rooms with uninfected patients. After infection these people go from stable health to rapid decline from organ damage.

The same way you probably wouldn't have had a heart attack until 2070 if you didn't take repeated blunt force trauma to the chest for 2 weeks this year.

What gets me is that how can average, supposedly for human rights, supposedly progressive people read this and be like "ok, fair enough".

I wish it was clearer that being able-bodied is not a state anyone can just expect to be all their life. And that, no, it really mostly isn't about anyones individual choices.

These public health guys are all just absolute ghouls. When you start to look at the things pubic health is for and who it benefits, it's just crystal clear. Neoliberalism really found a home in public health too, they were the first to adapt bs like nudging. It's vile.

And never will these guys be held accountable for any of this. If anyone deserves the wall it's these guys.
