The tab back is funny. It's kind of a shame that what Bethesda produces is remarkably boring, but it has nothing to do with a pronoun option. Also, if this dude is upset about people projecting "current day" society on to the past, just wait until he finds out how people project capitalism back on to feudalism in most of his "escapist immersion fiction".

As an aside, how the fuck can he call other people pathetic when he does this shit enough to stream it with a camera on himself and all he can think to describe what he values about games is "immersions, fantasies, escapisms". You're basically saying that your job is to be an opium sommelier.

      "immersions, fantasies, escapisms"

No one else is allowed to have an escape, only the cishet cryptofascist Epic G*mer. Other people being validated bursts his bubble just by existing.

It's like those Epic G*mers that get real mad if someone else they never met is playing the game wrong by using a difficulty slider or accessibility options, or daring to ask for them. frothingfash

What crushes me is when he screams "OUR IMMERSIONS. OUR FANTASIES, OUR ESCAPISMS"

Its wild lol like nah it actually isnt yours. This wasnt made with you in mind. There is people behind this project who didnt think of you once when developing it.

Personally i blame this on protestantism but thats a rant for another post lol

I'd bet 95% of us here are familiar with the problems of the 'protestant work ethic,' so I'd love to hear that.

I think people have post the plot (lol) of media/content creation and can no longer enjoy things through an objective lens or without being incredibly personal to it. You see it with Harry Potter weirdos, the rage at the end of GOT, etc. People think shit was like made for them and they make it a part of their life and any affront to it is an affront to them. It seems like people completely forget that there are people behind these projects who dont once think of them during the creation.

This aspect of media consumption is tapked about often, but my theory is this isna side effect of the actual protestant religious theory that the most important part of bible is what your personal relationship is with it. All these churches scream is that your personal relationship with jesus and your personal relationship with the bible is the most important aspect and i think people have extended this out to other media and that is why you get fanatic obsessions (even to a religious degree) that people have with the media they consume. They are literally treating it as if it is a religious text with protestant personal relationship views.

Anyway im sure this can be framed much better but this is my running theory loll.
