    He's earnest and truly goodhearted, but throughout the series doesn't display any strong leadership skills.

      He got Mr. Satans help for that though? And by the end of the Buu saga, he was pretty mature as a character.

        Delegation of tasks, another leadership trait. Goku is something of a shadow leader, letting more charismatic people take the stage when necessary. He could easily lead more directly, but he is too interested in Earth's own autonomy to be that overt.

              Super has some genuinely good moments with many characters and I also enjoy new characters like Beerus and Whis but a messy storyline , shitty powerscaling and regression of the main character makes it bad. Toriyama trying to make Gohan the protagonist during the third phase of Z was the right choice and he should've stuck to it because he finished Goku's development by the end of the Cell saga.
