Americans have the highest incarceration rate. Drive anywhere in the South and Midwest and you'll see lots of poverty. Also, compared to the rest of the world, Americans are little better off. For example, if you do not compare wages wages between, the buying power isn't much. Neither is the value of what you own. Fox News may think that "poor people have a phone" and therefore they're better off, but in reality, we need phones and certain "luxury devices."
Also, the proletariat has been demanding peace through many activist and organizations; but they're not focused on by the mainstream media. That's why you don't know about 'em.
Oh if that's what you mean, then fine. I'm just saying that Americans are dirt-poor. Hell, I certainly live in a neighborhood that's poor.
