Home Plate on Lombard Street in San Francisco has a similar policy, reported SFGate. Signs posted around the restaurant and on the menu asked diners to "Please Drink Responsibly. $50 cleaning fee per person for any incident incur as a result of intoxication."
Other brunch restaurants in the Bay Area use "mimosa fairies," servers devoted to monitoring the intake of guests.
Which type of liberalism is this?
Recently went to a grocery store in the US while visiting family during Rosh hashanah and holy shit, why does everything have alcohol in it now? Alcoholic coffee, alcoholic orange juice, alcoholic monster, alcoholic lemonade, alcoholic iced tea. Every drink imaginable is now available in alcoholic form.
The US must have a scary problem with alcoholism now, is everyone just getting loaded all the time to try and forget that everything fucking sucks?
I think it's people 30 and over who know there is no future, know it in our fucking bones, and so we might as well enjoy a variety of treats to gorge ourselves upon as the world readies itself to rupture and deflate
When the cool zone starts to get a little too hot I'm fucking off to the woods and taking my entire supply of psychedelics
Depends on the generation. Theres been studies that gen z has been decreasing alcohol consumption. Party due to the hangovers and social acceptance that you dont have to get hammered.

We even have alcoholic ice cream.
None of this stuff is marketed towards alcoholics though. It’s always low percentage, worse quality, and overpriced compared to just putting actual booze into whatever there is a hard version of.
The ice cream is actually good, but I can’t imagine a fully grown adult consuming enough of it to actually get drunk. That would take a lot of ice cream.
It's literally bad drinks made for someone who can't bother to spend 3 seconds to make one of their own with halfway decent liquor. Like, I don't mind if you want to get sloshed on screwdrivers or hard lemonade, but at least spend the money on stuff that you just have to pour in the glass one after the other.
With "something to drink" type drinks nobody cares if they're tasty as long as they're not actively unpleasant. Nobody will be mad at you if you bring some white claws or knockoff ices to a party; they're just upscale piss beers. I'd feel bad putting genuinely nice rum into a glass of coke.
Fair enough, but "shitty" rum and coke is miles better than whatever grain liquor they use with the whole lot of sugar in it.
I guess it's not for me, but I totally understand bringing some smirnoff ice or white claw to a party/picnic.
You mean to say that's not the universal standard?
Yes, alcoholism is definitely on the rise in the US.
For the reasons you mentioned.
