Oliver Tambo, born on this day in 1917, was a South African anti-apartheid politician and revolutionary who served as President of the African National Congress (ANC) from 1967 to 1991.

In 1943, Tambo, along with Nelson Mandela and Walter Sisulu, founded the ANC Youth League, with Tambo becoming its first National Secretary and a member of the National Executive in 1948. The Youth League proposed a change in the tactics of the anti-apartheid movement, advocating boycotts, civil disobedience, strikes, and non-collaboration.

In 1960, Tambo fled South Africa due to political persecution, living in exile in north London for thirty years. From London, he supported and helped organize the ANC in the fight against apartheid from a distance. On December 13th, 1990, Tambo returned to South Africa and was elected National Chairperson of the ANC.

I'm finally trying Starfield. It's probably because my expectations were in the gutter but it isn't that bad, I'm actually having fun. It's a bethesda game for sure: zero personality, you'll probably get tired of it before finishing up the main quest or exploring every mechanic, and it'll make a great engine for future mods. But it is pretty fun in the meantime.

Edit: also they went all-in with fast travel to an absurd degree. I discovered like 15 hours in that the main city was not, in fact, a set of disjointed maps (one for each quarter) with fast travel or tram between them but that they're in fact all perfectly connected and you can go from one to the other on foot without loading screens, for example

It's not though, their best game so far (and probably ever) is Morrowind, an actual good RPG they managed to produce. IIRC most of the team left after that, which might explain Oblivion.

Daggerfall is fun but lacks the delightful weirdness, careful character building, giant mushrooms, and esoteric philosophy that made me fall in love with Morrowind 25 years ago and never look at another person since. (lies I am promiscuous.)

I got about 30 hours in before getting kinda bored. I've also been trying to beat AC6, so I might go back to it after. The main quest is meh and the factions all suck. But like you said its a nice base for future mods.
