    Being buried alive in a submarine at the bottom of the sea is the closest thing I can think of to anything that encapsulates cosmic horror

      In a certain sense you are right, but on a more literal level there is little practical difference between that and being put in a hydraulic press. Contrast with prion infection or even just dementia

      I think living in that submarine for years blissfully ignorant until one day you realize that fate has you in a mate-in-one scenario, so you run around your 2 feet of space horrified would be more cosmic horror-y as I know it.
