I think their plan is to help Israel quickly finish their genocide by taking the rest of Palestine and they just need to shut people up for a bit to do it. Then they'll make up a bunch of stuff about how it was "maybe not totally cool in hindsight" and handwave it away like the genocide of indigenous people.
