"Nuanced"
So he supports Israel but doesn't like the bad optics of cheering for dead Palestinians.
I've said it before but I'll say it again. I've come to hate the word nuance because of posts like this. They act like just because they have "nuance" their take is automatically more based than anyone who, for example, thinks genocide is bad.
99% of the time in the imperial core nuanced just means "yeah it seems obviously bad but I know if I develop an actual opinion about it I will have to change my behavior"
I kinda know is bad, but its also benefits me, so I'm just going to pretend is a complex topic where nobody's really right.
I involuntarily twitch on hearing the word nuance
"Nuance" is the new "I'm not a racist but..."
He doesn't give a fuck and only cares about making money but doesn't want to acknowledge that is his belief so it gets complicated.
He wants to hold bad opinions but also wants to think of himself as a good person, complicated.
The idea of "nuance" has joined the ideas of "logic and reason" in the pantheon of concepts that have been gutted and flayed by reactionaries who now ritually parade around wearing the skin as a religious totem to confer a veneer of authority to their omnicidal depravity.
Maybe that's true maybe it's not. Maybe the manager is a wage slave living paycheck to paycheck just like the rest of us.
Frankly I've always wondered why management doesn't unionize along with the rest against the c-suite.
