      The problem with "death to America" accelerationism is that there's no clean way to wind things down.

      It's not like Biden or Trump will go on TV and announce "We've realised we're politically incapable of locating our tuckus with both hands, let alone governing, so we've invited competent people to take over." Charles III is unlikely to say "okay, you tried this independence thing, 245 years is a pretty decent run, better than anyone expected, go back to being a colony." Hell, even Xi would take one look at American infrastructure and say he doesn't want that bag of lemons.

      Without a viable way out of some of its crippling problems, yes,, the US will eventually collapse, but in the slow-motion form of a dying leviathan thrashing at anything it can-- both on a global stage and in terms of domestic instability and violence. It's going to be painful or even fatal for a lot of people, many of which have no crime other than being a scapegoat group.

      It's a pithy sound bite, but come on, leftists don't resort to sound bites when 500-page essays are an option.
