Let's take climate change: he's the EV guy so he could use some of his wealth to build a ton of solar and wind farms or at the very least keep his brand image in 2014 until now. He could have been hailed as a hero and had a ton of statues built in his honor, even if its for a selfish reason like both the glory and to "prove the left wrong" that the private sector can in fact be trusted to do the right thing.
