The US Navy's urgent priority is East Asia and they barely have the ability to cover that in peacetime. Only the US Marines are currently reaching their recruiting goals, and the first month of that war is going to produce drone videos that immediately turn off potential volunteers.
Iran would be such a serious near-peer war at such a bad time that I don't see the US being baited into a general invasion to support Israel. Maybe they're stupid enough but that's the kind of war that would break the empire.
