Guess that when people with actual convictions figured out that he was just a venal prick they stopped being as nice to him. He has been trying so damn hard to be the cool radical who stands up to the man for his entire career, harder sell when the guy is older than the parents of the people he is trying to impress and lech on.
Not sure if this is the same as the Dawkins cultural Christian shtick (99% just Islamophobia), Brand seems like the kind of guy that would fall for the love bombing that churches give converts.
