So they take support for Ukraine as a given, so why is it ok to give unconditional support for Ukraine but not unconditional support for Palestine? Even a completely naive person should spot the hypocrisy here.

If you look at it from an angle of
Russians / Russian speakers in the Donbass = Palestine
Ukraine = Israel
Russia = Iran (I am aware that this is a very rough analogy)
then I guess it's technically not hypocritical because they're consistently on the side of the Israel analog
