Egyptian mummification involves treating the brain as a useless hunk of jelly, removing it, and then discarding it before moving on to preserving the sacred internal organs in salt-filled jars.
To be fair to ancient Egyptians though, they didn't do it to unconsenting or even living people, unlike Usians.
