To add an addendum to rule 3, never put your President and Foreign Minister in the same helicopter or small aircraft. Especially if doing so in bad weather conditions. Especially if you're already under threat from a hostile nuclear power in the region with a proclivity for terrorism (though this probably isn't Israel's doing, in this particular case).
Anyway, Azerbaijan. Not a great country, I think. Did some genocides. They're a petrostate that is hosting Cop29, which I suppose is a way for the bourgeoisie to implicitly convey their contempt for the green movement. They got weapons from Israel, too.
Just for the record, there's an Iranian province called East Azerbaijan, which is not the same as Azerbaijan.

Kind of a random question, but do you have any good resources on Lázaro Cárdenas? Looking to learn more about his life and how he nationalized Mexican oil, but then lost control over the PRI. I listened to a talk by his son, but he skipped over 1940-1980 and the entire neoliberal turn of the PRI.

But basically its important to keep in mind that Cardenas wasnt a, civilian or a normal general like his title implies, he was actually a Warlord and ruled Michoacan as its only leader, this was the norm in post-revolutionary Mexico each state ruled by a warlord as their own personal fiefdom. Eventually via a purge he took over the PNR changing its name to PRM (eventually would be named PRI) and had absolute power over the state.
Cardenas created the political sistem of Mexico via 3 factors (a strong president, a hegemonic party, corporativism), the last one is important because it created big and strong unions that would represent the workers and would cooperate with the state.
The nationalization of Oil happen because it was one of the goals of the mexican revolution but it was delayed many times, during strikes against the oil industry for not paying wages Cardenas told the strikes to take over the oil refineries and then nationalized them, which led to a semi embargo by the USA, but the fame he gain by doing that made him the most popular president.
he lost control of the Party because it was never an ideological party, Its founder Calles made sure the party never really stand for anything except a so called "revolucionary nationalism" which could mean anything, Cardenas was a comunist sympatizer so thats why he helped the workers and the rural folk but everyone else was like liberals and other things which led to the PRI just using his image to legitimized itself while ignoring him, eventually leading to the collapse of the economy due to the oil shock so the neolib faction took over and did the new economic model (neoliberalism) which was continue during the transition to democracy era.
