    Since 2017

Are you fuckin' for real lmao? Doing the 'All Lives Matter' shit AND calling it 'white pride'? This is deliberate.

The 'charitable' side of me thinks they knew and did it for the controversy.

ed: I do appreciate it being pointed out that the 'white pride' is indeed a store label, which is not a part of the Skittles branding itself. It does lead me to wonder if they had any idea this would be the labeling used

      AND calling it 'white pride'?

I mean that's just some grocery store calling it that lol it's obviously not the official name

dunno how they couldn't see that coming though

The white pride thing is the store's label.

I think the point they're trying to say is that only the pride rainbow matters in June, so they've removed theirs in an attempt to show people they're not just a rainbow-washing corporation like the rest. But in the end they're just using Pride as a marketing tool and are hardly different than the rest.

They're doing "clever" rainbow washing by forcing you to do the association with Skittles and rainbow in your head. It's the exact same as the rest, but they can't add the rainbow to their product, so they have to remove it instead.

yup, just a more insidious form of rainbow-washing. look, we're such good allies that we're not gonna use rainbows in our advertising this month. if they were truly against exploiting pride for marketing they could just.. not. nobody is gonna care that the rainbow candy still has rainbows in June lmao

Yeah. I'm amazed they didn't "apologize" and backtrack, but I'm pretty sure most controversial marketing campaigns are by design.

I knew it was a long time

Because I remember it happening under Trump and everyone being mad about it

Their brand slogan uses to be Taste the Rainbow. Just fucking use that for pride month.
