I find it extremely funny how it pivots straight from "most Ukrainians have never seen a black person irl so they might stare at you" into "so anyway, they might call you the n word and a monkey".

Doubly funny because (white) Americans love to say shit like "Asia is the most racist because I went there once and people stared at me and asked me for photographs".

The notion that Asia is the most anti-black country is so odd to me. Like even if people were foaming at the mouth racist and saying slurs to every black person in the street, I don’t see how that’s more racist when black people make up a tiny percentage of the population and most countries there have little history with black people, whereas black citizens make up a significant portion of the western countries, and multiple (particularly angloid) countries had laws specifically targeting black people, and they still target them today. This isn’t mentioning the endless pro-destitution policies the west imposes on Africa.

One of it is (mostly) opportunist racism whereas the other explicitly incorporated anti black racism into countries’ very foundation

Honkies in America legitimately believe that because it's socially unacceptable to shout a slur at a black person that all racism has been alleviated from society, we are now systemically equal, and no white person has racial biases anymore because if they do, they'll get called out by "anti-racist" liberals. Right?

You see, a lot of countries don't have large black populations and haven't developed cultural conventions, laws, etc. around incorporating black populations into their societies. It's because these societies are inherently racist and definitely not because they didn't participate in the trans-Atlantic slave trade.

It's a CIA thing. The feds even hire Asian-Americans (usually women for some reason) to promote the idea that Asians are backwards and hate blacks.

They've never seen a black person before but all their children's games involve blackface.

Also love the line "it will be at your discretion to determine their intent"

"Gee I wonder what that guy could have possibly meant when he screamed "go back to Africa ******' at me?"

Some poor NGO sap getting called the n-word by a guy who knows at most 15 English words, and going "he's clearly just never seen black people before"

white people believe they're the aryan master race who are the most enlightened and progressive and thus superior to the backwards inferior savages of the world. This is inherently self-defeating "logic" but we're talking about people who unironically believe ukraine can defeat russia, america can defeat the chinese navy in their own territorial waters (having failed to overcome yemen's blockade) or israel can take on hezbollah so logic and reason is clearly not their strong suit

It's funny but I remember when I went to an Asian country once I was actually eager to get myself photographed with a mall security guard all because he was a mall security guard armed with a combat shotgun; it was the coolest thing my eighteen year old self had ever seen. My sister was originally like "<evilsandwichman> no!", but then she also wanted a photograph with him. Dude was a mall security guard with a combat shotgun, honestly coolest thing I'd seen by that point in my life.

I have not met a single mall security guard that I would be comfortable possessing a combat shotgun, but I'm glad you had fun I guess

I've seen mall security guards with full on submachine guns and assault rifles like the Beretta MX4 and various Galil/R4/R5 variants, along with body armour.

South Africa is something else at times.

I swear, white people made that shit up just so they can mental masturbate about the idea of other humans viewing them as literal gods.

I have never met a single person from anywhere in Asia do that while in college, and the university I went to is pretty popular for international students.

Maybe if you go to tourist sites in China and it was 15 years ago? Considering tourist sites are visited by people from the countrysides

As an average looking mayo, I had tons of people asking to take my picture in the middle of Xi'an around 2016. I wasn't there as a tourist though so we weren't anywhere near the terracotta army or anything and were probably the only non-Chinese people to be at the rural temples and stuff we were visiting. I thought one guy was asking me to take his picture in front of a big mural, but he pulled me in for a selfie instead. I don't think it was like "omg a white person" though as much as "omg a foreigner in my part of town". If they weren't so racist, someone in rural Arkansas (or wherever) would probably get excited about a Chinese person in their town just because its a rare circumstance.
