The Last Jedi is a mid movie that tried interesting things but didn’t stick the landing and was retroactively made into a shit movie by Rise of Skywalker being an absolute trainwreck that destroyed the interesting things TLJ attempted
Attempting interesting things and not sticking the landing is very in line with Star Wars to be clear, see: The Prequels.
