Generally techs at any kind of mental health facility are the lowest tier of worker. They hire just about anyone with a clean background to fill these jobs I've known from experience being in various psych hospitals and rehabs. It's very rare you find one that actually advocates for their patients so I'm not surprised. What's surprising is that the boss is even worse. Call me a lib, but I would have expected them to have a bit more empathy given their rank.
I wonder if it's a chicken egg scenario: does someone burnt out get hired for this job because they take anyone or does one get burnt out by the job while doing it to end up with that kind of mindset?
