Not a movie and I haven't finished it, but I believe The Rose of Versailles does this. The main character is a royal guard for Marie Antoinette who starts out only seeing the perspective of the nobility, but gradually sees more and more of the horrific conditions regular people are dealing with on a regular basis and joins the revolution.

Been a while since I read it, but I liked it a lot. The art is great and is one of the touchstones of the Shoujo genre for a reason. The political intrigue is all well done too. IMO it manages to walk the tightrope between humanizing Louis and Marie without being apologia for them - you get a sense for why things kept getting worse under their rule (I mean if I had become the King of France at age 19 I probably would have fucked things up too), but in the end when they go to the guillotine it doesn't portray the revolutionaries as evil for demanding justice.
