the only fucking problem that happened a thousand years ago was count Romano de Tusculana becoming the new Pope John XIX, who laid the foundations for the catholic-orthodx schism (questionable whether or not that's a good or bad thing, it may have made the eastern churches weaker should they've capitulated to Rome and allowed the Bolsheviks to have an easier time purging them later but it may have lead to the possibility of the plague that is protestantism to spread eastwards as well.) and endorsed Conrad 2 as Holy Roman Emperor leading to further centralization of the HRE and forged the path towards a unified Germany in the future. Also for stomping on the Poles, I'll give the poles shit when they deserve it but when it comes down between the krauts and them, fuck the krauts.

    Fuck you John 19th

Conrad II’s ascension did little for german unification. Since the Salian dynasty didn’t last long. The only thing that happened was that he made Burgundy part of the HRE.

Oh and schism was LONG in the making. Ever since the capital moved East, Rome wanted to regain its political power and the rule of the iconoclastic greeks didnt help.

And there were earlier “protestant” movements as well. Its just anglo-americans larping as Irish catholics and thinking because WASPs are a plague on the earth, that its uniquely the fault of “protestantism” which aren’t even a coherent group.
