My reply was the following:

"'Kamala is the best fighting chance for the kids in Gaza' when she is literally sending money and weapons to the people of Israel, de-funded UNRWA and said that her commitment to Israel is Iron Clad. Voting lesser evil is literally a cowards way to keep keeping the country right wing. Not voting for a genocidal maniac who is literally doing nothing to stop the genocide is not the best vote. And Harris has literally convicted black people on mass and wants to be tough on the border. The video that you sent is literally all full of lies and disinformation.

She is literally being endorsed by the war criminal Bush, plus 200+ Republics. If those people endorse you, you are no better than your opponent."

this hit the top of reddit the other day

I don't understand where the Jill Stein stuff is coming from. Seen literally nobody advocating for her, and I've definitely not seen anyone say anything about her when making the "Genocide is a nonstarter" point. I kinda think it gets lumped together because it's easier to talk about 3rd parties than the Democrats ongoing support of an extermination campaign.

Also, even if we are gonna argue 3rd parties, this completely ignores the electoral collage. Protest votes in Red states are actually pretty effective -- they show that there is a group of people who will turn out to vote for further left wing causes if the party is willing to stop ignoring their left flank. Protest votes in Blue states are... less effective, but they also aren't helping the Republicans, so the pearl clutching is still silly. It's only swing states where any of these arguments actually hold weight.

it doesnt help that pretty much every third party is a joke. they all show up to run for president, but they never seem to run candidates for things that are probably more winnable.

This isn't true. The Green Party has around 150 local elected officials and Jill Stein stumped for some of them when I saw her speak.

That's not a lot over the whole country... But I guess it's something.

Yeah, federal politics is overdetermined. Local stuff has way more potential, without being such a sink of resources and time

i mean, libertarians do, and in some parts of the country they win. i think for socialists to do the same thing successfully in the near future, the DSA has to finally implode

Stein has been making some rounds on YouTube lefty spaces, might be something that triggered these types of anti third party / anti Jill Stein pushes.
