There's no organized left prominent in America. The establishment dropped bombs on the coal miners. The Marvel slop gets audited by the DoJ. And, frankly, Bell Hooks informed me that there was a prominent wave of anti-men feminism. Where the fuck is the fresh grad from an Ivy League going to come in contact with leftist thought? And even if he did, what are the odds of it resonating with him? What does leftism have to offer young men? An opportunity to help foster feminist thought, a philosophy that he probably heard hates him through the grapevine? He probably got comradery and support from the people he exercised with; he and they probably get a lot more touches from people spreading rugged individualism than he did touches from Stavvy's tiktok.

My point being that my first instinct when I see his garden variety philosophy is why would he be a Chapo-listening leftist? It's rare for him to interact with theory and it's even rarer for him to give a shit. Why wouldn't he have a bunch of cringe takes? The people purported to give a shit about him tell him "fuck it, try something." So he tried, and did things, that ended up being cringe (and, allegedly, 1 that wasn't).
