I get that he's supposed to be a cringeworthy, annoying dweeb who is wrong about everything but it doesn't invert the trope enough to be a proper condemnation of that behavior.
Maybe it'll get better if he gets character development and learns to stop being terrible.
Yeah exactly, It would work if they actually addressed it, punished the behavior, they had a character arc and grew as a person/ redeemed themselves BUT THEY NEVER DO
they just get punched and have a cartoon bump on their head and the scene ends, only to happen again before too long
