    Reddit is like a giant auditorium where at least 30% of the people are violent reactionaries, and even if you try and mingle in a spot with the normal people you're never really free of them. It's exhausting, and impossible to have any feeling of community cohesion. Hexbear is a much smaller room but it's full of people who actually share the same core values, even if we differ in other ways.

      I don't have to be on edge that someone is going to spring full chud bullshit on me that I'm going to have to sift through.

      I can post a mediocre take on here just for fun, and get constructive feedback on it that I may or may not end up agreeing with, rather than inside-out brained lib/chud bullshit. On Reddit or whatever, I'm only going to post well within my comfort zone and be ready to defend it.
