I still don't get why people care about MK other than it's an older series. There are so many fighting games and series with better visuals, more interesting characters, better gameplay, better value, and better media tie-ins. MK just has fatalities which gave the creators PTSD.
Mk11 has pretty good visuals, probably the most single-player content out of any traditional fighting out today, rollback netcode, and cool characters (subjective obviously). The series is also pretty deeply ingrained into American culture as far as fighting games go, largely because there was a shitload of arcade cabinets in America back in the day. It makes sense it's as popular as it is today.
