because you get awesome benefits and don’t actually fucking do anything besides workout and get basic training as a reservist
the state literally gets nothing from you unless there is an emergency in state, which 7 times out of 10 you are actually doing something good for your local community.
Ex. Working covid testing sites, giving food and water after a disaster. If they call you to a protest just have a gym “accident”
the national guard is an arm of the state, why the fuck should any of us operate in the interests of the state.

While I don't doubt you have good intentions, I think that most people on this board would have moral objections to joining the national guard.
