I don't think it was bad, just not good. It was a very safe middle of the road ending which I don't think holds up to the quality of most of the rest of the manga.
After reading it just now, that's my thought as well. It's meh.

There's even a implication that war might happen again, in which case, what was the point of literally the whole fucking series? I get that Isayama was going for the "conflict never truly ends" message (hell Armin says it outright) but damn, a more satisfying resolution to such a massive war would have been nice.
I'm also confused if we're supposed to see Eren as a "hero" now? Nah brah you're still a piece of shit for killing 80% of everybody. I'm now convinced Isayama has radical centrist brainworms.
I’m tired of stories that speak to vague platitudes like “it’s human nature to war.” It’s such a skin-deep interpretation of history to assume that nations will always fight “just because.”

Also, placing Eldia in such a powerful position to do what they wish to the rest of the rumbled world leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I guess it’s their turn to do imperialism now? Is killing 80% of the world worth it for that?
I really was hoping it was shit he said lost in translation or just the kind of background radiation you get from living in a shithole right-wing country but nooo.

"thank you for commiting genocide"
