Sup y'all

After getting canned by my employer on April fool's day, I've decided to slum it out over the summer and visit a lot of the national parks for backpacking, day hiking and general tom foolery.

Wondering if y'all had any cool places to visit west of the Mississippi River, aside from national parks? Maybe some state parks or recreation areas, local eateries or music festivals? Any solidarity or volunteer work that needs doing between June-August?

Originally my decision to stay west of the Mississippi is because most of the country's national parks are on this side of it. I had no idea Rush Limbaugh's grave is directly west of the river. What a wonderful coincidence ❤️

If you're hanging west of the mississippi Kanab, UT is a small town near Zion national park and pretty near Bryce Canyon that also has some really fucking cool hikes just near the town.

SP crater in AZ is fun. Just a big cinder cone that you can climb up. If you go south the Sonoran desert museum near Tucson is fun. Look up fossil sites and rock hounding sites that are open to the public.

Some national parks have volunteer programs if you just want to try that.
