I sincerely don't understand how people can go "oh, this child has gone through puberty but is not yet fully mature. Well, I guess that's wrong. Sorta. Eeeeeehhhh."

I've had people say that to me in real life. Not in such stark terms, but it's clear to me that's what they meant. I feel like if I didn't make a disgusted face they'd start going "unless?"

Maybe psychologists should differentiate. But I don't see a good reason why normal people should. And definitely not courts.
