Regarding Syria there are probably a thousand times more "leftists" that think that the US should assasinate Assad and install the opposition than than people that have this take.

Half of the left is literally authoritarian. You have much more in common with the people on the libtarian right than with those further up the authoritarain achsis.
Please read about stuff beyond that dumb political compass thing. It's really dumb and doesn't map well at all to the actual reality of political ideologies.
