    It would still be stupid af but it would at least make some level of sense if there were a large number of countries offering citizenship and support to Palestinians. But they’re literally held captive and can’t leave. The borders are closed and there’s a heavily guarded wall around the whole place!

    As a hwhite American the concept of having a “homeland” that you have historical ties to is something I don’t have a solid understanding of. I’ve never had that and I’ve mostly resented the places I grew up. I already wanted to move away from almost everywhere I’ve lived, and if you started dropping bombs I wouldn’t think twice about leaving. But Gazans aren’t allowed to leave.

    To be clear I’m not trying to discount the concept of having a homeland you’re tied to, just wanted to point out it isn’t even a necessary part here because they’re held captive anyway.

      I suppose I feel a real attachment to Chicago at this point. If it was being bombed regularly and I was able to leave with my family I certainly would though. Not totally related to your point, which I agree with, just hadn't really thought about it before.
