Dude, I got an alarm clock that simulates the sunrise and turn off all my lights a few hours before bed so I can pretend I'm still in synch with the sun.

Working as a backpacking guide was the best sleep i have ever gotten. Down with the sun, up with the sun, exercisise all day.

Damn, bro, living the dream! I once hiked with a lightweight tent for a six weeks and it made me feel incredible. More people need the chance to experience this.

It's either very low pay, or you're doing constant client hunting. The best work is in mountain guiding, which you have to be rich to learn, so if you can't do that, you've got to be constantly courting rich people. It's the kind of thing where you need a website and an angle. Luxury, or nature rejuvenation, or full family, or something.

Each client pays pretty well, like 2000 bucks a week, but they can be spaced pretty far apart, and you sink hundreds into gear, gas, food and repair. Plus you're still paying rent on your home base.

The alternative is to do it as a job for like 2 bucks an hour, the clients are more consistent, but it's just not a living.

Anyone who has the luxury of scraping by this way should do it, but it's for sure a luxury.
