Was reminded by ProfessionalSlacker's thread about the review series they're gonna make about the bundle. There's a lot of games that have been widely touted like Night In The Woods, Pyre, Overland, Minit, etc. but what are some smaller or more obscure titles y'all have discovered in it?
It's not that buried but I need to lead with Quadrilateral Cowboy which is a great puzzle/heist 3D platformer built around using a portable command-line computer to control parts of the level and, later, deployable gadgets. It's pretty much everything I'd want a hacker heist game to be, and does some cool environmental storytelling (though the story is pretty open-ended).
Mendel, however, is pretty deep in the pack and is the one that really inspired me to make this thread. It's almost more of a toy than a game since there's no win or failstates. All you really do in it is crossbreed weird-looking, polygonal plants to make new species on an island, but it sucked me in all the same. Been having a really good time slowly cultivating a bunch of different gardens all over my island after doing a ton of trial, error, and some deliberate selective breeding to get certain plant characteristics. It's super mellow. The feeling I get when I'm in the zone with it is a lot like the feeling I get when I'm trying to make something nice in Animal Crossing. Really sweet little game overall.
Any one found any good couch co-ops in there?
Flash Point is good and very board game like reminds me of pandemic. Badblood is really different and fun and I don't think could be done outside of a videogame.Sky Rogue is a fun little game to play while listening to podcasts, but I got bored of it after a while. Death and Taxes is kinda like Papers, Please but you play a Grim Reaper deciding if people live or die. It wasn't amazing but was fun for a couple hours. Oh and I know it's not a buried gem but A Short Hike is great and I recommend everyone try it if your looking for a cute and relaxing game.
No R words here! (I'll talk to the admins about it. Growing pains and filter lists)
Nice, I definitely glanced over those two. Might check out Sky Rogue at least; I'm a little bit in the mood for a flight combat game.
Golf Peaks and Cardinal Chains are both excellent little puzzle games I've never heard of.
I glanced over Golf Peaks so many times going through the list. Glad to give it a shot, thanks!
Bold Blade is really neat and fun, No Wheels Racing is good for exactly one laugh once you realize what's going on
