Seeing people in 2021 realize that ska actually rules. :sicko-blur:
I'm not completely sure, but the large majority of musicians in ska bands are super dorky, and the lyrics are usually pretty awful (although you could say that about like 90% of songs). It tended to attract the dorky weird kids, especially the band nerds, and this is coming from someone who really liked ska for a solid 4-5 years and was a dorky band nerd.
that’s interesting. I just found it organically and thought “oh this is dope” and not much else.
It was the music of band kids and other varieties of nerd when I was in highschool.
