I listened to one episode of a podcast that was repped by the McElroys called minority corner. I blocked most of it from my memory but it was a couple of 20 something PMC types yas kweening over the Obamas while excusing the missteps of Biden and trashing Bernie. Ok I know this is literally the opposite of what you asked for, but read ministry for the future by Kim Stanley Robinson after you're done with the doomer book. I haven't finished it yet but from what I hear it's a fairly hopeful book about climate change
