Check out my sweet desktop! It's got a gtx 1070 that runs at a steady and cool 170 celsius.

It's cool how these new games require a GTXXX liquid nitro crystal cooling system in your quantum computer to run and yet the gameplay is just walking from point a to b.

tbf insanely high render distances in block game are pretty nice if your computer can support it.

Plus you can add shaders. Block game needs realistic looking water obviously.

when i use to smoke cigarettes in a slumlord's rental, this was a pretty accurate depiction of what it looked like to open up the computer. it's incredibly foul

Also, I've never cleaned it. I just open it up every few years, slap in a 700 dollar gpu and get back to gaming.

        Whatever works for you.

I'm envious of the easily accessible, seperated HDD enclosure for 6ish HDDs. All the modern cases have room for like 3 HDDs, scattered around the case that aren't easy to get at.

How did we lose the standard 1-2 CD rom drives, 1-2 floppy drives, and still end up with fewer HDD slots than we had 20 years ago?

Yeah I've always really liked this case. Only issue is it's a bit... Huge.

How often do you move a PC?

I don't get why anyone would sacrifice cost, IO, and heat dissipation for size if they're not expecting to move the PC all the time. Hell if anything, give me U4 sized PC chipset mobos, I'll cut some holes in a cabinet, if it means I can buy 16 cheaper RAM sticks, put 12 cheap HDDs in RAID 60 instead of getting 2 enterprise HDDs, OC 2 2 gen old 2-4 core CPUs, etc.

I used to move around an annoying amount. Lived in a tent for a while and had in my friends basement. Even still I didn't regret it being big too much because even then it was only every few months.

I like to have my OS and games on one ssd and then just whatever cobbled together hdd is fine for everything else.

Well, it's an 8 and a half year old rig, so not new really, but I lived in my house while I was building it, before that I lived in a 130 year old farm house.

Used to love taking my 20 gallon compressor with an extended hose and blasting my pc in the yard. :meow-floppy:

Come on comrade, cleaning the case takes no time at all and will not only improve performance, but also make your pc components be more silent and last longer.

Also if you don't mind me asking, what was the last time you applied thermal paste to your cpu?

Never. I'm honestly just too busy. If I'm not on a night shift or doing child care or doing housework last thing I want to do is clean.

Not something that should be redone all the time, but I would recommend doing it every few years. Thermal paste can dry out after some time, which not only increases cpu temps, but also can cause your cpu to fry.

Yeah I just swapped out my CPU cooler that I installed on my desktop back in 2012. Temps were going as high as 104 C before that. Now it never gets beyond like 64 C :party-parrot:
