I don't really care if you think (popular franchise) is trash, or (unpopular console) is good, akschully. I can get that from any chuddy gamer place anywhere.
It's fine to argue finer points of quality or talk about the defects of a thing but yeah those posts are stylistically very annoying and are obviously made with the intention of being very annoying
Far worse however are the "wow looks like I upset the nerds 😏" followup posts, just the most shit-headed way to behave imaginable, yes you said something people disagree with and they disagreed with you, amazing how that happens
That's what I mean about acting like a gamer. People are posting in this sort of smug way that suggests they are vying for a position in hierarchy of opinions, and their differentness makes them unique and smarter. I don't really think that we should just recreate the atmosphere of every other gaming forum on hexbear.
I mean, that's not really specifically a "gamer" thing so much as a "contrarian dick" thing, who exist in basically every kind of fandom.
Why become knowledgeable when most people mistake contrarianism for intelligence?
It's a behavior style that is very present in gamer forums, and I kinda don;t want it to show up here as well. It has a whole weird hierarchy thing to it, and I don't like that.

I for one enjoy shitposting and a little forced drama. It's impossible to only have high quality discourse when the user base is still very small. Also as mutch as I will defend games as being a form of art I don't think you need to be necessarily too serious about them
What do you mean? The Nintendo Shit Piss 20,001 is objectively the best video game console.
